Winter Trip to Bulgaria

Well, I’m back to where this blog started just over a year ago and setting off at silly o’clock in the morning to Gatwick Airport en route to Bulgaria. It’s Sunday 24th January and on the way I picked up the first of this week’s models, a very sleepy OT newcomer of the year, Bryoni-Kate and Carla Brown.

It’s a 3 hour flight followed by an hour’s drive to our base in Dolna Banya near the Rila mountain range, where we stocked up with supplies.

I’m only going to display a few samples from the trip in this post with some more to follow probably later in the week.

The first couple of days were extremely cold compared to what us Brits are used to – a constant -13 centigrade ( 8 Fahrenheit ), luckily the sun was out and the air perfectly still and the girls bravely battled away for as long as they could. Steve and shot with Bryoni and Carla for 3 days, partly inside as well, so there are loads of sets of both girls for all the OT sites.

So just as a taster, here’s Bryoni inside the house followed by Carla stuck out in the cold.

On Wednesday afternoon we were joined by Sophia Smith and Charli Delu who were out to shoot for the next 2 days so we all went out in the evening for dinner

It was slightly warmer the next day for Sophia and Charli, up to about -9 and by Thursday we were sweltering as temperatures approached zero. I’d invested in a bottle of Irish whisky too which helped keep the girls a little warmer.

Here’s Charli in what is sadly her last glamour shoot, she’s just started a new full-time job and has decided to hang her bra up for good.

And Sophia Smith who is thankfully not giving up, and yes in those last 2 shots she’s standing on a frozen mountain river – that’s cold!

To finish off the week we went for a slap-up Chinese meal in the near-by ski resort of Borevets, then Saturday morning returned to Sofia airport to catch our flights home.

As I said – more samples to come when all the images have been sorted out and there’s plenty more to come in the first week in February with 4 more lovely young ladies lined up for me to shoot this week.

If you’ve run away from the in-laws and escaped to this blog for some light relief, here’s Sandra – shot earlier this year in the summer, by a stream, in a forest in Bulgaria.

Very nice.

Last Shoot Day – Kelly M

This is Kelly’s second trip to Bulgaria with me. She came out in the snow last winter and was great dealing with the tough conditions – she’s thinking of joining up to the Army, believe it or not.
She didn’t like the bugs, though not quite as hysterical Georgina. We had to leave the first field we went too as the girls were too terrified to stay out of the car – see the video here.

Kelly was looking very good and we got a nice selection of sets across the sites. It was a pity it started raining again as we did well, up in the low forests by the stream, where there were not too many flying things. But rain it did – plus hail stones the size of large peas – again on the vid.

We had to go and finish off at the house as Georgina, trying hard though she was, could not carry on modeling outside after the rain had stopped.

Here’s what Kelly did today, again I’m not sure where all these sets are going. There’s a good selection of stockings and pantyhose plus a sock or too and plenty of silk and satin to go around.

Shoot Day 2

Mixed fortunes on Day 2. Everything started off well with an early start to catch the low morning sun. That was great for the first couple of sets, one each of Sandra and Tammy in the hay meadows, we then went into a wooded area, and just as I’d finished setting up, the rain started. We went back to the house and shot a couple more sets and wait and see if the weather improves for a shoot in some evening sunlight later on. The girls went off for a lie down.

The rain stopped by the evening but there still a lot of cloud about so I only managed the one stills set but did get enough sunlight late on to shoot a video each with the girls – they could look pretty good when edited together.

Bulgaria July ’09 Shoot – Day1

Ok, it’s Day 2 really, but our first day of shooting. I thought we’d check out some pastures new today as I think this must be about my sixth or seventh trip her and I know there’s a huge area to explore for good scenery, sadly we’re short on time. Anyway, I located an interesting looking lake on the map and off we headed. You have to remember we don’t have sat-nav and the maps over here aren’t exactly Ordnance Survey quality.

We finally found the lake about 2 hours later, and very nice it was too, about 1800 meters/6000′ above sea level, still with pockets of snow remaining.

Here’s a bit of video of our lunch-time picnic, then Tammy shot doing one of her videos later on in the day when we stopped at a dried-up river bed on the way home to catch the late evening light.

It was also pretty good weather for shooting, maybe a little more cloud around than I would have liked, but it added to the drama in some shots.

I shot with Sandra today for all of the OT sites – I haven’t categorized which sets are for which site on this trip as it all needs sorting out when we get back home and the best thing to do is to probably join OnlyAllSites to make sure your not missing out.
